Sankar Foundation Founder Atmakuri Sankar Rao's Services Remembered
Sankar Foundation celebrated the 92nd birth anniversary of its Founder Shri Atmakuri Sankar Rao on 2nd September on its campus. Sri Atmakuri Krishna Kumar, Sri Atmakuri Vijay Kumar, Executive Trustees, and Sri K Radhakrishnan, GM (Admn & Operations) garlanded the statue of Shri Sankar Rao and paid floral tributes to him to mark the occasion.
Sankar Foundation organized a meeting in which the partners of progress of Sankar Foundation and 200 representatives from NGOs, Vision Centres from three districts of Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram and Visakhapatnam were participated. The best performers were felicitated by Sri Krishna Kumar and Sri Radhakrishnan for their support and services to the community.
Addressing the gathering, Sri Krishna Kumar recalled the vision and commitment of his father and expressed his gratitude to the Sankar Foundation partners who have always supported the journey towards excellence. He assured all help and support from the Foundation in serving society. Sankar Foundation achieved a milestone of performing a record number of 4,18,684 eye surgeries so far, he added.
Sri K Radhkrishnan, GM (Admn & Operations) thanked the participants for reposing their faith in the hospital and showing commitment towards serving the poor and needy. The hospital is providing the best medical facilities and patients provided with quality treatment, he added.
The participants praised Sankar Foundation for their continuous support.
Earlier, Dr T Raveendra, Dr Nasrin, Dr Sirisha, Dr Krishna and Dr Suparna highlighted the latest facilities in the hospital through their presentations. Sri V Ramesh Kumar, DGM compered the programme. Sri Appala Raju, Senior Manager (Out Reach) welcomed the gathering. Doctors and, large number of employees were present on the occasion.
( Late) Dr. Kumar studied Law and Economics at the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Chennai. He was a Chartered Accountant of repute with offices in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Smt. K. Mani Mala is a postgraduate holding an MBA. She started her career as a founder faculty of one of the first management colleges in Visakhapatnam, viz. Indian Institute of Advanced Management. She worked with East India Petroleum Limited as its first employee and as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director. She was also associated in establishing the Joint Venture with M/s SHV Energy of Netherlands as General Manager (MIS). During her tenure she was also associated with other group companies such as 16 MW & 450 MW gas-based power projects in AP and 16 MW & 100 MW hydel power plants in Himachal Pradesh.
