High-Quality SS—OCT equipment for Improved Diagnosis Inaugurated in Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital
Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital and Institute, Naidutota, is playing a major role in the prevention of blindness in Visakhapatnam. To improve diagnosis and treatment, the hospital has added state-of-the-art advanced SS-OCT (Swept Source Optical Coherence Tomography) equipment aimed to provide high quality eye care services to the patients.
The equipment is being used for imaging ocular structure especially Choroid (deeper layer of eye), retina, cornea etc. It is a modern diagnostic machine for in-depth examination of the patients in identifying eye ailments. Sankar Foundation ensures that the patients receive the highest quality eye care tailored to patient needs with its expertise and personalized assistance.
The new equipment was inaugurated on 28 July 2023 by Dr Jagannadh Kumar Challa, Senior Vitreo Retinal Surgeon, Sankar Foundation in the presence of a strong team of Dr T Raveendra, Dr Nasrin, Dr Sirisha, Dr Laxmi, Dr Krishna Teja, Dr Annaji Rao, Dr Shravya and Sri K Radhakrishnan, GM (Admn& Operations), Sri K Bangar raju, DGM (PR), Sri V Ramesh Kumar, DGM, Smt Dharani.








( Late) Dr. Kumar studied Law and Economics at the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Chennai. He was a Chartered Accountant of repute with offices in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Chennai.




Smt. K. Mani Mala is a postgraduate holding an MBA. She started her career as a founder faculty of one of the first management colleges in Visakhapatnam, viz. Indian Institute of Advanced Management. She worked with East India Petroleum Limited as its first employee and as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director. She was also associated in establishing the Joint Venture with M/s SHV Energy of Netherlands as General Manager (MIS). During her tenure she was also associated with other group companies such as 16 MW & 450 MW gas-based power projects in AP and 16 MW & 100 MW hydel power plants in Himachal Pradesh.
