Sankar Foundation, Visakhapatnam a leading community eye care service provider in North coastal Andhra Pradesh, has achieved a maximum number of eye surgeries and extended quality services to a record number of outpatients in 2023.
The hospital has conducted 33,286 different types of eye surgeries during the year achieving a remarkable milestone of a total 4,33,286 eye surgeries since the hospital’s inception (1997).
This strong performance was achieved due to the commitment and dedication of the staff, particularly the doctors, the paramedical staff, and the outreach team.
The management of  Sankar Foundation called upon the employees to put more effort to sustain the spirit to take the hospital to new horizons in clinical performance and to achieve a high patient satisfaction index in eye care services. The management is taking several pro-active initiatives to expand the eye care services further in the industrial area of Gajuwaka as a full-fledged hospital.
The hospital’s Outreach Team conducted several free door-to-door eye camps in several villages in North Coastal districts of AP, which aimed to achieve avoidable blindness and make the selected villages/areas totally blindness free. This was with the support of Govt agencies, various corporates under their CSR programme and also under District Blindness Control Society  (DBCS) during the year.
