Course details
The training program is aimed at ophthalmologists who wish to familiarize themselves with this technique of cataract surgery. The surgeons who would like to master phacoemulsification cataract surgery need to be experienced in this technique of cataract surgery. This training program design can be customized according to the skill level of a trainee without compromising on training quality and surgery outcomes

Outreach Activities
Sankar Foundation Eye Institute is committed to working in the community. The main goal is to serve the poor and needy. The fellows will take part in community eye service by comprehensive eye disease screening and treating the patients.

Course details
This training program is designed for practicing ophthalmologists who wish to acquaint themselves with the technique of Phaco-emulsification cataract surgery. The training will be on an individual basis by a senior ophthalmologist catering to the specific skill level of the trainee. To provide them for more learning opportunities, the trainee ophthalmologists are permitted to watch the senior ophthalmologists performing advanced surgeries
OP &OT observation. Preop and post-op duties, Outreach activity Didactic lectures. Training in Peribulbar blocks, Training in the wet lab is a part of training and it will be continued entire period of training.
At the end of Training, an Ophthalmologist can able to do 20 to 25 phacoemulsification surgeries including Step surgeries.

PHACO-EMULSIFICATION TRAINING FOR NRIs AND FOREIGN NATIONALS
OP & OT observation., Didactic lectures, Training in Peribulbar blocks, Training in the wet lab.

Complete surgery under supervision and training in complication management if they are competent enough.
At the end of Training, an Ophthalmologist can able to do a minimum of 80 phacoemulsification surgeries including Step surgeries.

At the end of Training, an Ophthalmologist can able to do a minimum of 100 SICS surgeries including Step surgeries.
( Late) Dr. Kumar studied Law and Economics at the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Chennai. He was a Chartered Accountant of repute with offices in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Smt. K. Mani Mala is a postgraduate holding an MBA. She started her career as a founder faculty of one of the first management colleges in Visakhapatnam, viz. Indian Institute of Advanced Management. She worked with East India Petroleum Limited as its first employee and as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director. She was also associated in establishing the Joint Venture with M/s SHV Energy of Netherlands as General Manager (MIS). During her tenure she was also associated with other group companies such as 16 MW & 450 MW gas-based power projects in AP and 16 MW & 100 MW hydel power plants in Himachal Pradesh.
