About Hospital Facilities
Sankara Foundation is dedicated to delivering top-quality and cost-effective eye care services.
The 200-bed hospital has a professional, qualified team – 16 full-time ophthalmologists & medical specialists, 7 Postgraduate Fellows, 7 DNB trainees, a physician, and an anesthetist. The medical team is supported by 2 management and 211 paramedical and administrative staff.
The hospital is equipped with 8 state-of-the-art operation theatres and a dedicated wet lab cum septic OT. It houses 4 general wards with a bed strength of 200; 20 independent A/C / Non A/C rooms; 17 bedded daycare facility.

OPD Services
To ensure that we can serve all members of the community effectively, the hospital offers two types of Outpatient Departments (OPDs)
- 1. General OPD (Paid)
- 2. General OPD (Free)
Optical Shop
The optical shop is run and managed by the hospital.
Lab
The lab provides tests for haematology, Biochemistry, Serology, Clinical Pathology, and all surgical profiles related to the eye.
Pharmacy
The pharmacy provides medicines as per the MRP. The post-operative medicines are provided free of cost for all surgeries ( Paid & free)
OPD Flow
( Late) Dr. Kumar studied Law and Economics at the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Chennai. He was a Chartered Accountant of repute with offices in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Smt. K. Mani Mala is a postgraduate holding an MBA. She started her career as a founder faculty of one of the first management colleges in Visakhapatnam, viz. Indian Institute of Advanced Management. She worked with East India Petroleum Limited as its first employee and as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director. She was also associated in establishing the Joint Venture with M/s SHV Energy of Netherlands as General Manager (MIS). During her tenure she was also associated with other group companies such as 16 MW & 450 MW gas-based power projects in AP and 16 MW & 100 MW hydel power plants in Himachal Pradesh.
