Sri Gudivada Amarnath, Minister, Industries, AP inaugurates “Smt Atmakuri Yasodha Centre for Professional Development” at Sankar Foundation
Sri Gudivada Amarnath, Minister for Industries, Investment, Infrastructure, Commerce & Information Technology, Government of Andhra Pradesh inaugurated the ‘Smt Atmakuri Yashodha Centre for Professional Development’ at Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital and Institute on 19 July 2023.
The centre aims to strengthen the Research & Development arena in ophthalmology in the hospital.
Addressing the Doctors, and employees of Sankar Foundation on the occasion, Sri Amarnath called upon the doctors to create awareness among children who are always using smartphones, which could lead to eye related problems at an early age. He advised the parents to motivate their children to reduce the usage of mobile phones unless it is necessary.
The minister said that Sankar Foundation should leverage the advantages of Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology and the latest innovations in ophthalmology and clinical advancements in treatment protocols for emerging eye diseases. He called upon the people to come forward for eye donation campaign which will enable gift of vision for others even after their death. Sri. Amarnath appreciated Sankar Foundation’s services and their dedicated efforts in serving the community for the cause of eliminating avoidable blindness. He congratulated Sankar Foundation for conducting over 4,18,000 eye surgeries so far.
Sri A Adeepraju, MLA Pendurty congratulated the doctors and the team of Sankar Foundation for performing a high number of eye surgeries for the BPL families and assured all support from the government for future endeavors.
Sri Atmakuri Krishna Kumar, Executive Trustee, Sankar Foundation expressed his happiness for naming the new Centre in his mother’s name and for fulfilling the dreams of founder Late Sankar Rao in developing the hospital to newer heights.
Sri K Radhakrishnan, GM (Admn & Operations), Prof Krishna Prasad addressed on the occasion.
Dr T Raveendra, Dr Nasrin, Dr Ajay Sharma, Dr Challa, Dr Krishna, K Bangar Raju, DGM (PR), V Ramesh Kumar, DGM, KV Venugopal. SKL Rao, AGMs, and a large number of doctors, employees were present on the occasion.
Smt. K. Mani Mala is a postgraduate holding an MBA. She started her career as a founder faculty of one of the first management colleges in Visakhapatnam, viz. Indian Institute of Advanced Management. She worked with East India Petroleum Limited as its first employee and as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director. She was also associated in establishing the Joint Venture with M/s SHV Energy of Netherlands as General Manager (MIS). During her tenure she was also associated with other group companies such as 16 MW & 450 MW gas-based power projects in AP and 16 MW & 100 MW hydel power plants in Himachal Pradesh.
( Late) Dr. Kumar studied Law and Economics at the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Chennai. He was a Chartered Accountant of repute with offices in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Chennai.
